You must be at least 18 years old to submit a notice.

If you are submitting a notice on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that the information provided is accurate.

4. Accounts and submissions

Some notice submissions may require an account.

You are responsible for:
Keeping your login details secure.
All activity carried out under your account.

We may suspend or close accounts, or remove notices, where these Terms are breached or where content risks harm or legal exposure.

5. Your responsibilities

By submitting a notice, you confirm that:

The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
You have the right to publish the information.
The content is lawful, respectful, and appropriate for public publication.

You must ensure that notices do not infringe privacy, defame individuals, or breach data protection or other applicable laws.

6. Content rules

You must not submit content that is:

Unlawful, misleading, or defamatory.
Offensive, abusive, or discriminatory.
In breach of privacy or data protection law.
False or misleading public announcements.

We do not accept:
Scams or fraudulent notices.
Commercial advertising presented as notices.
Explicit or adult content.
Content that incites hatred or harm.

We reserve the right to edit, decline, or remove notices that breach these rules.

7. Sensitive notices

Notices relating to deaths or other sensitive matters must be submitted with care and accuracy.

We may request clarification where appropriate, but we do not independently verify notices.

8. Use of your content

You retain ownership of your submitted content.

By submitting a notice, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, display, archive, and promote the notice on Highland Notices and related The Highland Times platforms.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Highland Notices available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may update, improve, or change features at any time.

Subject to this, our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to £200.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of reputation.

We may suspend or remove notices or accounts where these Terms are breached or where continued publication would pose legal or reputational risk.
